1.Clean the Blades Regularly 

 

Wipe the rubber blades with a damp cloth to remove dirt, grime, and debris.

 

Use rubbing alcohol to remove stubborn residue.

 

2.Clean the Windshield

 

Dirt and wax buildup can damage wiper blades. Clean the windshield with glass cleaner regularly.

 

3.Avoid Using Wiper Blade on a Dry Windshield

 

Always use windshield washer fluid to lubricate the blades before turning them on.

 

4.Lift Wiper Blade in Winter

 

In freezing conditions, lift the windscreen wiper blade off the windshield to prevent ice buildup and rubber damage.

 

5.Inspect for Damage

 

Look for cracks, splits, or uneven edges on the rubber blades.

How to Replace Windshield Wipers

 

Step 1: Find the Right Replacement Blades

Most auto parts stores can look up compatible windshield wipers for your car.

 

Step 2: Remove the Old Wiper Blade

 

Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield (be gentle to avoid damaging the spring mechanism).

 

Press the release tab (varies by model—J-hook, side-pin, or bayonet-style).

 

J-Hook: Press a small button or tab to slide the wiper off.

 

Side-Pin: Squeeze the sides and pull the blade out.

 

Bayonet: Push a locking mechanism to release.

 

Carefully remove the old wiper blade.

 

Step 3: Install the New Wiper Blade

 

Attach the new wiper blade to the arm, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

 

Gently lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield.

 

Step 4: Test the Wiper Blade
