What is a flat blade wiper?

As a wiper manufacturer, we get asked this question all the time from importers and auto parts wholesalers. Flat blade wipers are the modern frameless car wiper design that has largely taken over from old metal-bracket wipers on most modern passenger vehicles. Our customers often refer to these as flat type front wiper blades, flat blade windscreen wipers, or simply wiper flat blade when sending us enquiries.

How does a wiper blade frameless work?

Traditional wipers rely on multiple hinged metal arms to push rubber against glass. A wiper blade frameless removes that whole outer frame. Instead, one continuous spring steel strip sits sealed inside the rubber casing.

This simple change is what lets flat windscreen wipers maintain consistent pressure across the curved windscreen. Every section of the rubber stays in contact with glass, so you get clearer wiping results.

Why choose frameless car wiper?

Working on the production line, we notice several real-world benefits. The integrated aerodynamic spoiler holds the blade tight at high speeds, cutting down wind lift and annoying squeaking noise.

Without exposed metal joints, there are fewer gaps where ice, dust and road grime can build up in cold weather. If we select the right rubber compound, these blades deliver streak-free wiping over a longer service life.

We manufacture both universal and OE-fit flat type front wiper blades. Many of our wholesale clients pick wiper flat blade packs for the aftermarket because flat blade windscreen wipers are compatible with a wide range of common car models.

For new buyers: flat windscreen wipers and wiper blade frameless describe the same product category. If you are sourcing frameless car wiper for retail or vehicle fitting, flat blade wipers remain one of our top-selling lines.
