Installing a rear wiper blade correctly is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to ensure proper installation:
Tools/Materials Needed:
New rear windscreen wiper blade (compatible with your vehicle)
Clean cloth or towel
Optional: Glass cleaner (for cleaning the windshield).
Steps to Install a Rear Wiper Blade:
1. Lift the Wiper Arm Away from the Window
Turn off the vehicle (if the car wiper blade was recently used, wait a few minutes to avoid accidental activation).Gently lift the rear wiper arm away from the rear windshield until it locks in an upright position.
2. Remove the Old Wiper Blade
Locate the release tab or locking mechanism on the wiper blade (varies by model).
Press the tab or squeeze the locking clip to release the old blade.
Slide the old wiper blade off the arm carefully.
Caution:
Don’t let the wiper arm snap back onto the glass—it could crack the windshield.
If the wiper arm is stiff, apply a bit of lubricant to the hinge.
3. Prepare the New Auto Wiper Blade
Check that the new blade matches the old one in size and attachment style.
Remove any protective coverings from the rubber blade.
4. Attach the New Wiper Blade
Align the new blade with the wiper arm’s hook or connector.
Slide or click it into place until you hear a secure "click."
Gently tug the blade to ensure it’s locked in.
5. Lower the Wiper Blade Arm Back
Slowly lower the wiper arm back onto the rear windshield.
Avoid slamming it down.
6. Test the Rear Window Wiper
Turn on the back windshield wiper (usually via the vehicle’s wiper control) to ensure smooth operation.
Check for streaks or skipping—if present, clean the blade and windshield.
Additional Tips:
1. Clean the Glass & Wiper Arm – Wipe the rear windshield and wiper arm with glass cleaner to remove dirt.
2.Check Wiper Direction – Some blades have an aerodynamic design; ensure it’s facing the right way.
3.Regular Maintenance – Replace rear windshield wiper blades every 6–12 months or when streaking occurs.
If you’re unsure about compatibility, consult your vehicle’s manual or ask an auto parts store for assistance.
